Zohran Mamdani Vows a 'New Era' for New York City in Maiden Address

On his inauguration day in office, Zohran Mamdani vowed to “transform” America's largest city, promising “a fresh chapter” and an ambitious beginning to his administration.

An Unprecedented Mayor

The 34-year-old figure, who just a year ago remained a relatively obscure state assemblyman, now stands as the city's first Muslim mayor. He also made history by being the inaugural to be take the oath of office using the Qur'an.
