Multiple passengers and crew sustained injuries when a Delta Airlines jet originating in LA to Sydney experienced turbulence Friday morning.

The flight, numbered 41 "went through a short bout of rough air" as it landed at Sydney Airport, a representative for the carrier informed. A number of the onboard staff were injured.

Local paramedics said they evaluated five patients, and took a trio to hospital with minor injuries that such as spinal discomfort and head pain. The injured ranged from their 30s to 70s.
